Dash Cameras
Onboard camera(s) that continuously records the view through a vehicle's windshield and/or inside the cabin. Dash cameras may provide video evidence in the event of a road accident. During parking, some dash cameras can capture video evidence if vandalism or theft is detected in response to motion. Dash cameras are equipped with removable SD cards for event data storage and review. Some dash cameras are GPS enabled to add additional information about the location of a vehicle during recorded events.
Event Data Recorders
By simultaneously recording multiple camera angles, and Event Data Recorder (EDR) can provide irrefutable evidence in the case of an incident. EDRs are equipped with memory cards to capture and store events triggered automatically by G-force and/or manually by the driver. Content retrieval methods rage from removing the camera's SD card, to automatically transmitting using Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity.
